Revolution for Cats uses
Features of Revolution for Cats:
  • Single dose
  • Prevents parasites and heartworm disease
  • Controls and treats intestinal hookworms (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) and intestinal roundworm (Toxocara cati)
  • Prevents hatching of flea eggs and kills fleas (Ctenocephalides felis)
What does Revolution for Cats do?
After topically applying Revolution to your cat, it begins to enter the bloodstream through the skin, going to work at preventing parasitic worms and heartworm disease. Selamectin, the active ingredient, is then present in the bloodstream and tissue of the cat. Selamectin effectively kills adult fleas and American dog ticks, prevents hatching of flea eggs, and works to treat sarcoptic mange and ear mites.

Overview
For the prevention of heartworm disease, Revolution must be administered monthly, preferably on the same date each month. If a dose is missed and over 30 days have gone by since the last dose, give Revolution immediately and resume the monthly dosing schedule. Revolution may be given year round or only during the mosquito season. If given seasonally, the first dose must be given within 30 days of the cat's first exposure to mosquitoes. The last dose must be given within 30 days after the cat's last exposure to mosquitoes. We recommend you test your pet for heartworm infection before starting a preventive program. Reminder stickers are included to place on your calendar for each of the months following the date of the first dose.
Switching Heartworm Preventives: If Revolution replaces another type of heartworm preventive, the first dose must be given within 30 days after the last dose of the previous product.
Flea Control: For the prevention and control of flea infestations, Revolution should be administered at monthly intervals throughout the flea season, starting one month before fleas become active.
Ear Mite Treatment: For the treatment of ear mite (O. cynotis) infestations, Revolution should be administered once as a single topical dose. A second monthly dose may be required in some animals. Monthly use of Revolution will control any subsequent ear mite infestations. Cleansing of the infested ears is recommended to remove the debris.
