Bovi-Shield Gold 5 prevents respiratory diseases associated with infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus, bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) types 1 and 2, parainfluenza3 (PI3) virus, and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV). It also prevents viremia associated with bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus types 1 and 2.

Bovi-Shield Gold 5 uses
Bovi-Shield Gold 5 is easy to administer and safe for use in calves nursing pregnant cows or in pregnant cows, as long as they were vaccinated following the label instructions with PregGuard FP9, Bovi-Shield FP5 + VL5, or Bovi-Shield FP5 + L5 before breeding.
What does Bovi-Shield Gold 5 do?
This vaccine contains modified live virus to protect cattle from viremia associated with bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus types 1 and 2, as well as respiratory illness associated with parainfluenza3 (PI3) virus, bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV), infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus, and bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) types 1 and 2.
Bovi-Shield Gold 5 side effects
Anaphylaxis is possible after vaccination. If this occurs, administer epinephrine and provide supportive therapies.

  • Entire contents should be used upon opening.
  • Gentamicin is included as a preservative.
  • Use a sterilized needle and syringe to administer this vaccine, and do not sterilize using chemicals as traces can cause vaccine inactivation.
  • Unused contents and containers should be burned.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Overview
General Directions: Vaccination of healthy cattle is recommended. Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the sterile diluent provided, shake well, and administer 2 mL intramuscularly. In accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines, this product should be administered in the muscular region of the neck.
