Acetazolamide should not be used in pets with any of the following conditions:
  • Obstructive lung disease
  • Abnormal chloride levels
  • Abnormal potassium levels
  • Abnormal sodium levels
  • Other abnormal electrolyte levels
  • Severe adrenal disease
  • Severe kidney disease
  • Severe liver disease
Long-term use is not recommended for pets with non-congestive angle closure glaucoma.

Use cautiously in pets with pre-existing blood abnormalities or significant respiratory acidosis.
